It truly feels like Ithaca again. No more sun, and Ithacating, just like how I remember it.
It's the weekend, and I have papers to write, homework to do, and blogs to post. Sounds like a standard weekend here at Cornell. I'm sure I've posted something along these lines before, and if that's the case please excuse any redundancy.
The weekend is not
All its cracked up to be when
You're here at Cornell
That's the age-old promise. You have to go through the week to get a break for the weekend. Hence the Monday blues and the TGIF attitude. However, when at Cornell, the only difference between the weekdays and weekends is that you (usually) don't have classes on the weekends (which means staying up later and sleeping in). Other than that, it's the same. In fact, because you don't have class, you usually have to set aside time to do all of your big homework projects. And, unlike high school, you don't just set aside your Sunday afternoon- you set aside your entire weekend. In fact, I'm gonna give you another haiku because I'm in a giving mood:
Only at Cornell
Do you feel unproductive
Not working Fridays
Really. Friday nights used to be a time for fun. Now, if I'm not doing work I feel as though I'm wasting a lot of time. And it makes me feel guilty. Now to go write my paper.

Ithaca's Irony
It's a Sunday. Which means classes tomorrow. And which means everyone is sitting at their computers like I am now and doing work (unlike I am now).
I'm pretty sure our town is familiar with irony. Really.
Whenever it's nice
Out- sunny and beautiful,
It's always freezing
Today is an absolutely gorgeous day. However, after 2 minutes outside, you will have enough of it. Yesterday, on the other hand, was ugly but warm (comparatively). It's like the city of Ithaca is trying to torture us. And to add insult to injury, it's a Sunday. Today is the day that everyone is too hungover to go out, and has to spend time working. Yesterday though, that's when people go out and have fun. And it was ugly. I swear, this town hates its students. Just wait till Cornell Days comes around. The weather will be perfect every single day visitors are there. Before and after though? Rain. I guess that's what we get for going to school in Ithaca.

Sexual-Story-Saturday Sequel!
It's Saturday! And you know what that means!
Limerick!
There once was a gal from Manhattan
But traveling was her one passion
She went everywhere
On planes in the air
And legs in a similar fashion
Hopefully you get it. It's pretty blatant.
Today is another gorgeous fall day, and more than anything else: It's the weekend! At long last. Although I know I said pretty much the same thing yesterday.
Lucky for me, I got most of my work out of the way last week, so my only real work now is my essay for my seminar. And my essay for my medieval studies class. And my two research paper peer edits for Survey of Jazz. And all of the reading I need to do. So yeh, not much at all.
Today will be pretty chill, I predict. Procrastination!
Expect a vlog post at some point or another this weekend.

Sexual-Story-Saturday!
Today is an absolutely beautiful Saturday afternoon. About an hour ago our female-only dorm residents filed out of the dorm for a fire alarm. You can tell it was the female only dorm because people actually responded to a noise at 11 AM. Were there a men's only dorm, the residents would probably be burned alive on a Saturday morning before 2 PM.
I have decided that each Saturday, I should change thing up. So here's my official unveiling of:
Sexual-Story-Saturday! By which I mean Limerick-Saturday, but that doesn't have as nice a ring to it. I have come to the conclusion that each and every Saturday I will post a limerick instead of a haiku. So here you go!
Oh there once was a woman from Crete
And oh so many a man she did meet
She lived in a hut
And kept the door shut
For her real home was between the sheets.
There you go. And look for a vlog post today or tomorrow maybe.

"Thank You, Come Again"
If you'll notice, I am posting this late Friday night. You may be asking why on earth I am posting a blog entry so late on a Friday night, and truth be told, I am doing what I normally do when I post: Procrastinating. I should be working on my essay due Monday or my 6-8 page research paper due Friday, but instead I come to you here to spread joy and procrastination. Just think of me as Santa Claus. Except with procrastination instead of presents. And much less diligent. So more like the Easter bunny.
Now what to talk about. I just saw a new episode of Monk (which happens to be one of my favorite shows), and the premier of a new show, White Collar, which I thoroughly enjoyed. USA network is just plain amazing. Although I suppose "plain amazing" sort of negates the effectiveness of the saying. But you get the point.
In other news, my rocking chair has developed an annoying problem. The friction on the right side is somehow far greater than the friction on the left, which makes it incredibly difficult to pull in and out (you better not have giggled at that). While this might not seem like too severe an issue, it is really a problem for me since I use my desk an awful lot, between work, procrastination, and music. Those end up getting all mixed up though.
Still no idea as to what to talk about. And now I'm just rambling. Hmmm. What to say, what to say.
Here's something that I've noticed recently:
Twenty-four hour
Food places do not worry
About quality
By 24 hour places, I don't just mean those, but most places open late. Almost any place you go to this late at night will serve complete crap, but people won't care, for one of two reasons: They're lazy, or they're drunk (people get drunk in college?! No way!). In either case, they accept the bad food (unless they're a bit too drunk). I was pondering the merits of opening a quality food establishment open 24/7 (for which Green Cafe does not come near qualifying for). Then I came to the aforementioned realization, and decided that it would flop rather quickly. Unless located in the lobby of a fancy condo building. Which don't exist in Ithaca.
If you don't recognize the title quote, you have not lived. Or have not watched The Simpsons. Eh, same thing.
Also, I'm busy early tomorrow, so don't expect a morning post. You'll see an afternoon post though, and then the surprise will be tomorrow night.

It's Waffle Time!
Well, I had a good night's sleep. And no, I did not just wake up. But I am just leaving to brunch. Normally, people tend to think of Sunday as the day for brunch. However, I would like to clarify:
There is no weekend
Lunch or breakfast at college
There is only brunch
Yes, Saturday or Sunday, there is no breakfast or lunch, in spite of what a dining hall schedule may say. So now, if you'll excuse me, I have a date with a waffle.
This post is boring. Speaking of waffles, last night there was a frat/sorority giving out waffles in the middle of the night. Which made me spontaneously think of this.
Any time between
Ten and two is waffle time.
AM or PM
Waffles are great, but really, you need to have them for brunch, or a midnight snack. Now for a waffle. I'll do a funnier post later. I'm just not in a creative mood I guess.
